Plenty of People, Plenty of Work to be Done

Plenty of People, Plenty of Work to be Done
Reading Edgar Cahn's ideas and words "...We have plenty of people, plenty of work to be done, and an equal time on this Earth. ..." I reflect on the timebanking principle of redefining work for the 2025 edition of the World Report of Time Banks, dedicated to Edgar Cahn and the 30th Anniversary of TimeBanks.Org.
On a weekly basis, I meet people who don't have work or don't have enough work. Yet, I visit various cities and neighborhoods, and I see so much work to be done. I read about scores of unfunded, unpaid people advocating for vulnerable populations in the United States and around the world. When I meet people who want work or are volunteering without being recognized for their contributions, I remind them that their time has value. I remind them they are doing the good work that needs to be done. I encourage them to join a timebank, define their work, earn time currency, and meet their needs while taking care of others on this Earth. I am grateful to have met Edgar Cahn and to continue to learn from him through his work and the people whose lives he touched.
