A personal message from Krista Wyatt, Board Chair of TimeBanks.Org
We are grateful to witness the transformative impact that TimeBanks.Org and its partner circles are having within communities around the world. Together, we support numerous TimeBanks each year by co-creating new initiatives, stewarding launches, and offering ongoing mentorship to established TimeBanks as their needs evolve. Our work is shaped through listening, learning, and responding, ensuring that individuals and communities can contribute their skills and receive support in ways that are meaningful and reciprocal.
Grounded in more than three decades of shared experience, we continue to strengthen local, regional, and national connections. Through collaborative decision-making and continuous feedback, our programs are developed and adapted to reflect the distinct contexts of each TimeBank community. Across all of our circles, we remain committed to mutual respect, care, and equality. These values are practiced internally and supported externally as we work to embed them more deeply into everyday life.
Looking ahead, TimeBanks.Org is focused on expanding our reach while deepening the quality and resilience of our impact. We are collectively working toward a world in which TimeBanking is woven into the fabric of community life, creating durable networks of mutual support. Through strategic partnerships, shared leadership, and thoughtfully applied technology, we aim to support the emergence of new TimeBanks and strengthen connections among existing ones locally and across borders so that learning, services, and support can flow where they are most needed.
As an organization practicing sociocratic governance, we understand our work as an ongoing process rather than a fixed destination. By regularly reviewing our effectiveness, mentoring emerging leaders, and adjusting our structures through consent-based decision-making, we remain adaptable to the changing needs of communities and society. In this way, we seek to contribute to long-term social transformation and a more just and equitable world.
Yes, we can.
Each of us has a meaningful role to play in the healing of our communities. By supporting one another, sharing responsibility, and inviting diverse voices into the conversation, we can ease burdens, amplify powerful ideas, and inspire participation that leads to lasting, positive change.
We invite you to join us. Whether you are representing a neighborhood, a town, a city, a region, or an entire country, you will find a committed partner in TimeBanks.Org. Through shared purpose, transparency, and collaboration, we will continue to walk this path together, attentive to what is needed now and open to learning what comes next.
