A chance meeting

A chance meeting
About sixteen years ago I moved to Seattle to e with my family. Seattle was a lovely place to live except I found it difficult to make meaningful friendships here. One day, by chance, I was at the West Seattle Senior Center where they were having a health fair. As I walked around the room, browsing and talking with representatives of various health organizations, I came upon a lovely women standing next to a table with a sign and brochures about an organization that read West Seattle TimeBank. I asked what the organization was, found out and thought it just might be something good for me, so I gave the woman, Tamsen Spengler, my information and got myself signed up. Joining the Timebank was absolutely one of the best things I have done for myself. I found really good friends and a place where it is easy to be of use to other people and to receive assistance when I need it. I still love talking about the Timebank to other people and trying to interest the in joining us members in this wonderful organisation.
